What Are Veneers?

Veneers are porcelain facing that are permanently bonded to your teeth to improve the appearance of your natural teeth.

Common questions we get asked about veneers are whether they chip off with time or come off? the simple answer is ‘no’…. if the treatment is well planned and consideration is taken to ensure your bite is correct. We ensure the teeth are well prepared for bonding the veneers to and always use the highest quality materials and best labs in the country to ensure you get not only great aesthetics but a good long term result as well.

The other question we often get asked is if veneers discolour? Again, the answer is ‘no’. Porcelain does not discolor for a long time especially when high-quality materials are used and the porcelain is handled and polished by lab technicians who are specialized in handling these materials.

The cost of veneers depends on the number of teeth involved and the condition of the underlying tooth structure to which the veneers will be bonded. For example, if there is decay that needs to be removed or old fillings that need to be replaced or if the teeth need to be whitened first.

Porcelain veneers are a great way to correct mild misalignment of teeth if you dont want braces, or to correct the shapes and lengths of teeth that are worn down or have disproportionate sizes.

They can also be used to improve the aesthetics of heavily filled and discoloured teeth. The main advantage of porcelain veneers is the ability to achieve a beautiful long lasting aesthetic result in a relatively short period of time.

Within two to three visits, patients for whom we have placed veneers feel an immediate improvement in their confidence when smiling, laughing, speaking publicly and especially in photos.

We want you to feel like you can finally stop ‘hiding your smile’ if you’re one of those people that hesitates to smile or laugh fully and confidently when you’re around others because of minor issues with your teeth.

The process basically starts with a consultation to identify what your main concerns are with lots of pictures and an in-depth discussion with our lab technician before a trial fit of what we can achieve. We then prepare the teeth and take moulds for the lab technicians so they can fabricate your veneers. The whole process takes around three visits and can be completed over a few weeks.

Every step in our process is detailed and planned carefully to achieve the best aesthetic outcome for you in the long term. Can’t wait to see you!
